Aníbal González (Puerto Rico, 1956; Ph.D. Yale University, 1982) is a Professor of Modern Latin American Literature at Yale University. He is the founder and general editor of the Bucknell Studies in Latin American Literature and Theory Series of Bucknell University Press, and is the author of six books of criticism. Among these are: Journalism and the Development of Spanish American Narrative (Cambridge University Press, 1993), Killer Books: Violence, Writing, and Ethics in Modern Spanish American Narrative (U of Texas Press, 2002) and Love and Politics in the Contemporary Spanish American Novel (U of Texas Press, 2010). He is the recipient of a John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation fellowship, and has recently finished a new book on the role of religion in the modern Spanish American novel.
