Maria Bouffard

Maria Lavandier Bouffard is the Director of Emergency Management at Yale University, a position she has held since December 2008. During her tenure at Yale they have successfully responded to numerous incidents to include natural hazards events such as Hurricane Irene and Super storm Sandy; public health events such as Ebola and Meningitis, and human caused events such as a campus-wide lockdown. In addition, Maria is responsible with ensuring that Business Continuity Plans exist for the University’s critical infrastructure.

Maria has over 18 years of experience in the field of Emergency Management and disaster response. She began her career and served with the American Red Cross for 11 years. Maria worked over 50 disaster relief operations with the American Red Cross to include 9-11 in New York City and Hurricane Katrina.

Maria is working on a Master’s degree in Global Development and Peace at the University of Bridgeport. Maria and her husband live in Higganum, CT with their Labradors Honey B and Blue.
