Ziad Ganim is a California native who lived and studied in Berkeley, Cambridge, and Munich before coming to Yale in 2014. His parents grew up as an ethnoreligious minority (Mandaen) in Iraq and immigrated to New York shortly before he was born there. His research group in the Chemistry Department specializes in developing new technologies to see single molecules and applying them to study catalytic and biochemical process.
